Turbo timer and gauge installation
Turbo timer and gauge installation
I have to make sure that I get everything right on my next Blits Dual timer installation. I bought the HKS harness with it. I don't know why they sent me a diferent brand kit but it seems to fit fine.
I am also going to install an analog oil pressure gauge. I got the sender and the adapter plate from Mazdatrix.
If you guys can share your experience with the same installations it would be a great help and peace of mind.
Thanks

Turbo Timer
Installing the turbo timer with the harness is cake.
The plugs you T off of are right at the base of the sterring wheel, removing the floor vent right there should give you some more room to work. You can figure out which set you're supposed to T into by guessing and checking, it wont hurt anything to have em set up wrong.
The purple wire goes to the parking brake switch. Take of the trim around the parking brake, lift up your center console, you'll need to take the two screws out under the power mirror/alarm panel, and the two screws in the storage bin. if you pull back the carpeting around the passenger side of the e brake there will be a flimsy looking brass switch, with a black connector on it. Take off the connector, there is one big slot where it connects, and two little slots that you can use to splice into.
I T'd into the boost line running to my pressure sensor, and ran the hose back to the driver's side fire wall, there's a giant hole going through there with a boot around it. I just poked a hole in the boot, and fed the hose through, sealed up the hole afterwards.
My harness came with two grounds, I grounded them both, but you only need one to make it work, I don't know why the second one was there.
My harness also came with a red and green wire, one is power when the igntion is one, and the other is power when the Acc. is on (if I remeber correctly) those are an easy place to tap in to power for gauges.
As far as settings, 1 bar or 1000 Kpa = 14.7 psi. and I have my minimum time for the auto timer set to 30 seconds, I don't drive my car too hard on a regular basis, so it never gets much abover 45s of cool down. How's this compare to everyone elses experience? I am just beeing too easy on the gas?
Hope this helps, sorry about the poor typing,

how about the oil pressure gauge
anybody has any pointers for the oil pressure gauge.
Car keeps adding more to the To-Do list:
Now the stop light comes on at the idiot cluster when I hit the brakes. I checked out they seem to be working alright, I dont know what is causing this.
Also the supposed to be brand new brakes are squeaking.
It never ends
