turbo sounds

I finally have the car on the road again. After a month of waiting for parts and finding time to install them, it works.... Or I thought anyways.

The car runs with a rock solid idle now (without any adjustment of the TPS.) I finally have a new Walbro and different injectors and its all installed.

The car runs good... until I hit turbo. The car feels although it doesnt have one.. I hear my ghetto bov shooting off everytime I shift but the turbo isnt pushing right...

I put my head under the hood today and I listened as I played with the throttle.
The car sounds fine until I hit around 3500 rpms. Then I hear this low grinding noise comming from the intercooler. Everytime I hit 3500 it makes that sound. Is it the turbo grinding against the housing!? I just installed a new cold compressor wheel and im thinking maybe it wasent as easy as I thought.

Did I break the turbo before I even got it started?

yeah that doesn't sound good! they have a turbo on ebay for like 75 bucks with 50k original miles, pic that one up and install it. Or first take your tid off and see if you can spin it freely with your hand. see if there is any shaft play or rubbing.

Hmmm...sometimes detonation can sound like that. I wonder if you hooked up your secondaries wrong, and they aren't coming online. They are supposed to come on around 3200. You may be leaning out and detonating at this point.

Before the injector was leaking from the top but I fixed it and the spraying stopped...
I hope its not detonation.

of course maybe your turbo is not working cause you hooked your vac up to it and spooled it without oil lines connected

I figure it has to be the turbo. I just stuck in a new compressor wheel and its most likely messed up somehow... I already checked for play though

Well I have a few topics of what might be wrong.

1) My AFM is at a bit more then at slight angle. Would this cause the flapper door not to open correctly and maybe just maybe, its more apparent when the 2ndaries come on and the car asks for more air??

2) I didnt tighten the DP-presilencer pipe tight enough causing the car to loose backpressure and causing the turbo to surge? (i noticed exhaust escaping when it was in the garage)

Thanks in advance.
