Not true. The TII intake will bolt to the 6 port block, all it takes is a little grinding on the ports. The manifold/turbo assembly will the bolt up, and therefore the intercooler and upper intake will fit as well. Precat won't fit very well, but other than that you would end up with a functioning 6 port high compression turbo engine.

Still, I think the auction is misleading. Though you can't beat the price. I see it going for over $1000 before the auction ends.

Just remember that the factory T2 motors have a lower compression ratio and reinforced rotors and housings so they won't die after 30k In other words, a quick way to detonate the S#$t out of that engine in your convertible may be to install the T2 peripherals and have a blast for awhile and then wonder why it blew on you.

Even the stock T2 engine is only rated for 6.7 PSI boost with stock intake and exhaust . . . and that is only possible in Mazda's view due to its reinforced mechanical design and lower compression ratio. To anyone considering making an N/A motor a turbo conversion, I ask "do you feel lucky?"

I am not an engineer but I know why aircraft engines are so reliable: they are healthily overbuilt for their power ratings. The opposite appears to be the case with heavily modded rotaries.

I was shocked at seeing so many posts on these boards about blown motors. Now after having been here a while I can see that people mod their motors beyond recognition while disregarding the fact that the engine's mechanical structure can only take so much power (and hardly any detonation).

Sadly, there is no "kit" to bolt onto your N/A motor to make it into a Turbo, unless you want a timebomb. Ask the next blown motor poster how much boost s/he was running on that motor designed for 6.7 PSI . . .

Thats an ok price, considering what you can get the motor with some of that stuff for. The only concern I'd have is that that stuff looks really old and really used.
