Turbo Hood on NA

Debating whether or not to buy a turbo hood for my NA.... do you guys think its rice since its a non functional hood. It looks good but makes no performance difference, and in my opinion this constitutes as rice.

my bad, my na hood is aluminum. I like the way it looks, just dont want to pretend to be driving a turbo car. Mixed feelings about the hood.

it is lighter... but so is an aluminum na hood... does the weight really matter that much? i wouldnt get one, just because my car isnt turbo. . . to me its like people who have a fake second muffler on their cars to look like dual exhaust... worthless.

in my opinion the N/A one looks better. if youre talking about weight you can get an N/A aluminum hood (from verts or 2+2 bases i believe). if you can get a cheap one that matches your car, go ahead. but if were talking about going out of the way and spending a lot of money and possibly even repainting to get the turbo hood, yeah its rice and its a waste of time/money.

r u thinking of getting a factory turbo hood? if so
A) is it alluminum?
B) is it steel?

or are you thinking of a carbon fiber hood? if so
A) is insurance paying for it because of an accident?
B) will you pant it regardless of it being carbonfiber?

finally what is the ultimate goal here
A) i plan on doing a turbo swap later and am geting small stuff out of the way
B) turbo hoods look cool
C) i dont really car all i want is a lighter hood

answer those questions and ill tell you your true reasonings behind wanting a new hood

personally, go for the hood, why??? because its not one of those fake hood scoops that you put on with 3M double sided tape on an N/A hood. if you were to do that...and this forum were to find out....oh boy, THEN you would be starting something ;-). just do what you like...its your car.

me and my friend put my turbo II hood on his n/a while my car was down for a while, he was going from a steel hood to my aluminum turbo hood. his car was red, mine is black, so a black hood on a red car. yes it was pretty ricey but it brought a lot of attention (girls), and also the temperature gauge went down some for sure.

it makes no difference.... all the guys on this forum are going to blast their opinions out because of course: they're the best, right??

look at it this way: don't ask the people on this forum whether or not to put a TII hood on your car.

if it was my car, would i do it? yes. is it my car? no, therefore - my opinion is worthless.

what difference does it make whether or not other people like your car, when you're the one who's got the keys in your pocket?? if you like it, do it. i personally love the offset hood scoop and think it looks excellent, be your car N/A or TII.

but like i said: it is YOUR car. do what YOU think is best, not what we think is cool....

TII is better... imho i like it for a few reasons 1) it was a lot lighter than my steel..duh (2) it looks more aggressive, which i dont really care about either way (3) the main reason if you think about it... you say it gives no performance benefits, i could argue that it does by keeping the upper intake component cooler, may not be a big difference, but you see guys at the autox and **** cooling their intake with all kinds of stuff... so a little custom fab on a TII hood, you can have a pretty cool little 'cooler' for your TB DC and UIM ... just my opinion
