Turbo blanket? Pros and cons?

I'm debating getting a turbo blanket, but I'm not sure of the pros and cons. It can help keep under hood temps down but I worry that I'll roast the turbo. Won't it get hotter while running and stay hotter longer after shutdown? In theory that will help its efficiency while running, since if it's hotter the temperature delta between the exhaust and the housing will be less, which means more exhaust energy going into spinning it rather than heating the materials. Will that extra heat conduct into the center section and coke the oil in the bearing after shutdown?

Right now it's a stock turbo on a worked S5 T2 motor, makes 213RWHP at only 7-8 lbs of boost. I run it hard at HPDE and TT and things get hot under there. I'm looking at doing a BNR (probably stage 3) over the winter.

Hey Nene you never answered my PM about your hood.

I only put a turbo blanket on my car because the HKS log manifold puts the turbine closer to the main engine harness, which I also wrapped in reflective heat tape
