Is Turbo Bad

This is my first turbo so i know little about them, and im trying to troubleshoot so bear with me and my stupid questions. Will the stock BOV make any kind of noise, and will there be a distinct noise if my turbo is actually boosting. I took the TID off and turned the car over a couple times and the turbo seems to be spinning great (no catching real smooth) but as i sit here reading im wondering if my turbo could be my cause of having no acceleration at all. I havent been able to really get on it on the road for it barely goes anywhere, but i have reved it up to good RPMs while its been sitting in the garage, will the turbo boost with no load on the engine. If anyone can answer or give me a link to some answers that would be great. Thanks

Try testing the shaft play on the turbo. Pull off the TID and grab the center of the wheel and move it to the side and up and down and back and forth. There shouldnt be much shaft play. Normally the car will not build boost at idle.

buy a catless DP also, my car wouldn't boost when I first bought it due to a clogged precat.. You can purchase the Thunder fabrications DP/MP for 200 bucks..

yea i checked the turbo before i installed the engine and it had just a fraction of left to right. and it spins nice and freely....I figured the turbo wouldnt boost at idle but what if its sitting there and im reving it up.

You're not going to get much boost without a load on the engine.

Check the hose coming from the compressor of the turbo. It will lead to the boost duty solenoid and a few other places...Do you have an aftermarket boost gauge? Can you describe the gauges behaviour under WOT?

Turbo won't boost unless under load like Aaron said.
