Turbo 2 diff with NA Axles

Soooooo how dumb is my idea... so i have a set of gxl axles and i have measured both my "one" turbo axle and my gxl. The turbo is 3.559 to the each hole and gxl are 3.499 . What if i take a drill bit/drill press and make the holes bigger ? how unsafe is my idea haha. Im desperate at this point of finding no turbo 2 axles and not having the money to drop on the 8.8 rear end swap right now .

The axle centers in the diff flange pocket, so I guess one could in theory elongate the holes to make them fit.

But aren't the TII axles slightly shorter than NA? Because the TII diff is larger? It may cause binding.

despite what auto stores say, no one can get those. I have tried they are all "out of stock" or "no longer available" or they are na axles.

Welp, I double checked Rockauto just now, You can get remans new from them for S4 Tii only, or send in core for reman for S5. However, I almost garuntee if you put some leg work in and call the company direct that does the work you can get a pair.

Apparently things have changed a bit since I last looked. Apologies, But put a WTB in classifieds, You will have someone WTS within a day.

****, side note, my S5 Tii pair is growing in value... But I need them.

I just talked to someone yesterday at a drift event, and he was running NA axles on his T2 diff.

Said all he did was mill out the holes a little and voila

Ive done it before and it works. Not the best option but works!

You only need elongate the holes. The axles center themselves on the axle stubs.
