trouble with shifter knob

I know I am master of the obvious, but are trying to screw it off or just yank. It is threaded and there is some thread lock type stuff originally on it so keep trying and it will come.

Grab, turn and off it comes.
That's all it took for me. Mine wasn't really stuck or anything. Just twisted off b/c it is threaded. Leave the chrome jam nut alone or else you will spend an extra minute adjusting things so the shifter lines up right.
You know how it is when repairing or modding something on these cars......
Faster it gets done, faster you are back on the streets beating stupid ricers
