Trottle body spacer
Trottle body spacer
The throttle body spacer was leaking oil. Atkins wanted eighty dollars for the gasket and suggested ia make my own instead. The built imngasket is not easily removed and you're not really supposed to put a gasket on a gasket. I'd be afraid of rtv leaking. Am I over thinking things? What don you guys suggest?
The only problem you might have is plugging off any holes in the base plate .. If you are doing it use a little as possible .so nothing squeezes out , If it does you have probably plug off the small spacer hole .. great stuff but you can create a lot off problems . use high heat product,, good luck

If you don't plug any holes on that piece it would be ok.
The spacer acts as a hose to between thee vacuum nipples on the intake mani and the inside of the mani. The spacer has little tunnels in it to provide vacuum to the nipples.
Now,I did cut a gasket for in between the mani and the spacer AND the Spacer to TB but I made sure that I had all holes left open.
so,Really if you do that it will be alright.

copper spray on gasket maker.. forget RTV, it will get into the passages no matter how thinly you place it on there.
i use ultra copper on many intake gaskets and it works great for many applications from turbo oil lines, to intake manifold gaskets to exhaust gaskets.
