Tricks when cleaning up engine...
I'm in the midst of swapping engines (unfortunately just between N/A S4s...), and have the one that's going into the car torn down to just the short block. It however needs a good cleaning/degreasing, so I need recommendations on how to best block off the parts of the block that water/degreaser/dirt shouldn't be getting into. Ideally, some kind of waterproof tape that I can put over the ports but that comes off cleanly or that the residue is easily cleaned off.
Also, I could use tips on getting the injector air bleeds out of the LIM- I want to give it (as well as the other parts of the intake system) a very thorough cleaning, but I don't want to damage the plastic air bleeds either with solvents or when trying to remove them. Can penetrating lubricant like PB Blaster be used on them, or will that damage the plastic?
Any other suggestions/tips are of course quite welcome as well. Thanks!
