Transmission Wiring Q

I'm going to keep this as simple as I can put it...

I've got an '88 Automatic car that I'm doing a conversion on.

The manual gearbox is from an S5, it's N/A.

I've got the reverse lights wired from the transmission to the car.

However, there are several harnesses remaining on the car's harness (s4, automatic) and several remaining on the gearbox itself (s5, N/A).

My question is, past the reverse light wiring, do I need to bother with any of these other (Mystery?) wires? Or can I just tie them all out of the way and be done with it?

Icemark, AaronCake, Kevin...if you're out there...

the others are like neutral switch and I think a 5th gear that has something to do with emissions or the o2 sensor. a lot of people just tied them out of the way and everything works.

The clutch interlock (What you call a 'neutral switch' is simply the trigger wire on the starter solenoid run from the starter solenoid to a switch behind the clutch pedal and finally to the ignition. It's not a special sensor or switch on the gearbox itself.

The 5th gear switch is a possibility for one of the spare bits...but seeing as this car was an automatic, it has no shift-up light in the tachometer which makes it useless. It has nothing to do with the o2 sensor.

I'm going to check the FSM when I get a few minutes and see what it says..but in the meantime if y'all have anything to add, feel free.

Thanks

no I know what's Im talking about I'm just drunk.. I mean tired. the neutral switch is on the oposite side of the transmission and the 5th and reverse lights are on the same round plug on the driverside. I just don't recall what they do. I know the japanese turbo transmissions don't have a 5th gear switch so I think that has something to do with American emissions.

Alright, FSM checked successfully, and I owe you *Walken* an apology.

Passenger side is the neutral switch.

Driver side is a combo 5th/Reverse Light switch.

I used the S5 FSM via the site you provided me with rather than RX-7city.net

Thank you again Crit, for the help last night. I'm stoked about the car nearing completion!
