Question Transmission wires??

I'm confused about the two little connectors upon reinstalling the transmission. One is black and the other is red but they connect to two reds. Any help?

are those the wires for reverse and 5th gear? Do they go into a large nut-like thing?
God, I just can't remember all of the wires that were on the tranny. My friend and I installed/removed trannies many times, but I don't remember about all of the wires.

They hook to 2 connectors. They aren't color coded.

Well I have my 88 TII tranny and engine harness sitting in the garage. I think you are talking about the back-up light switch wires, so turbo shouldn't matter.

The other switches are over the top (5th gear) and neutral.

The FSM doesn't show the wire codes of the switch wires, only after the connector. Yea both of the switch wires are red. One connects to a Black/Yellow wire and the other connects to a Red/Green wire.

Are you sure your wires don't have the color coded stripe? The black should have a yellow stripe and the red a green stripe.

Obviously which side of the switch gets power doesn't matter--otherwise they would of set it up different so you couldn't connect them wrong.

Good luck, Scott
