Transmission Whining? Possibly Light Weight Flywheel?

i just put a turbo transmission, act lightweight flywheel, and act street and strip clutch in my 1986 base model rx-7. the tranny was whining so i drained the fluid out and there was only a few ounces in there. figured that was the cause. so i flushed out what little there was of the old fluid and put new fluid in. the transmission is still whining. do you think i scarred the inside of the transmission? do lightweight flywheels make more noise? never had one before.

Its probably your main bearing in the Tranny. I have come to realize its very common among the TII trannys. I have yet to hear....er not hear one. You can try running some Lucas oil in, but it will need replacing soon.

Yeah I am sure, do you here it all the time? and get louder in 1-3 (or still hear a whine) then nothing in 4-5. Well, I would say get it fixed as soon as possible, better than needing to replace other tranny parts. It really depends on how long it has been going on, and how you drive.
