transmission took a poop :(

Hey guys, I feel bad that any time I post on here is when I have a problem lol but this time its for serious
I was driving back to my house down the sidestreets, and my tranny made a weird whirring sound almost like knocking when in 1st, but went away after shifting. So I stopped, put it back in first and it got louder. Shifted to 2nd, gave it a little gas and CLUNKCLUNKCLUNK it was game over.
Stopped it, forced it to buck to the sidewalk in 1st gear and turned it off. Turned it back on and it stalled out when I took my foot off the clutch. I'm assuming the transmission is blown. Where do I go from here? Besides getting it towed to my house..

Like everybody else here I have a ridiculous connection to my 7, and I honestly cried a bit when it happened cause I know I'm gonna have a really hard time trying to pay for this. I can barely even afford 10 bucks for gas, I don't have a job anymore or anything.
Anybody have an estimate on how much it'd be to fix or replace?
I live on long island and my 7 is a '91 n/a vert. Does anybody have any idea how to get in touch with function7 out here on the island by phone?

Any help is appreciated, thanks

you can get a n/a trans for dirt cheap
if you do the work yourself, you are only paying under 200 for trans, and fluids. Since you are going to replace the trans, might as well replace the clutch if it has tens of thousands of miles on it.

Wow are prices really that bad over on the East coast?
Around here, an S4 NA trans is ~$50 and an S5 $75-100 [The S4 will work if you swap the tail shaft over]

As for fixing it.. It's not feasible. Parts alone are a few hundred dollars.. >_<

I'll probably bring it to a shop and get a new tranny, I could never imagine buying a used one. That's like buying an unrolled condom, YOU JUST DON'T KNOW WHERE ITS BEEN!!

^ Buy from a member here. Most are honest and reliable. Why spend boat loads if you're broke if you can get a cheap reliable used one on the site?

N.a transmissions are very cheap I'm sure you could find one for $60, if you look hard enough. Lots of people do turbo swaps
