transmission swap confusion

Ok, so I've got all the parts collected to complet my N/A to T2 Transmission swap, except for one question:

The bell housings.

It was my understanding that it is necessary to swap out the bell housing from the N/A tranny onto the T2 tranny in order to allow the T2transmission to bolt up to the N/A block...... is this correct? If this is correct, IS there a N/A transmission with a removable bell housing?

Thanks!

your understanding is incorrect.
the t2 transmission will bolt right up, the bell housing pattern is the same between NA and Turbo blocks

You didn't ask, but I believe the transmission mounting brackets are different b/t n/a and Turbo.

No, there both the same. Both n/a and tii there's no difference. At least for s5.

^ Really?

I think Hailers2 is speaking of the transmission cross member. I thought those were different between TII and N/A.

If you have the mount on the TII tranny, you're all set. The chassis side is the same, NA or TII.

I believe the confusion may come from people swapping auto to 5speed - then you have rear mount problems (if you don't have the 5speed mount).
