Transmission Shifter Dust Boot

OK guys, I need help. How do I put this 4th shifter boot http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MAZDA...8091QQtcZphoto on the shifter? Does it just slide on it, or does the shifter come apart?

Thanks,

PH

if i can remember it just slips over the top of the shifter because you have to remove it to do the bushings... just make sure you remove the top nut that helps support the shift boot ... good luck

Vaseline - it's a tight fit...like first time with a nun Shifter does not disassemble. May want to tape up the threads - goes in from the top. Try not to rip it.

Thanks, that what I thought, but I'm still waiting for the boot (should be here today) so I could not try it. I should have some Vaseline or K-Y.....
