It'll work just fine. I'm not sure about the 5th-gear switch being the same from S4/S5, but the tranny should but up just fine and work perfectly, as long as you're sticking with the correct transmission for your car (Non-turbo tranny being replaced with a N/T tranny, etc.)

i'm currently running a S4 TII tranny in my S5 TII. The trannies are almost identical except for this dynamic dampener in the S5 tranny....you can see the difference in the pic. But yea....the trannies are swapable, dunno about putting TII tranny on an NA though...not sure about that one....

This is the S4 w/o the Dynamic Dampener.....



And this is the S5 w/ the dynamic dampener.....
