Ok. well i bought a transmission off of the mazda recyclers located in california. It has no trans fluid in it and i installed it into my car. i havent run the car yet as i am still waiting on my trans mounts form mazdatrix. i also installed a clutch. but the transmission does not spin, nor go into gear. i havent put any fluid in it yet because i needed to go home. ( Tire Kingdom closed and i got kicked out. i work there so i can work on my car when i have free time.)

I just wanted to test the shifter and tried to put it into gear but the damn thing wont budge. i cant spin the driveshaft by hand either and it is supposed to be in neutral. I also dont have a Slave cylinder, as i am waiting for it from mazdatrix. ( im going from N/A to TII drive train)

Is the transmission siezed?

Any advice would be appreciated.

When we did our Tii m/t swap, we could turn the prop shaft and the input shaft and we could easily work thru the gears.

You might be a sad panda.

That doesn't sound goon man, I was able to shift through the gears in both donor transmissions I have installed.

I had my mechanic check it out today, and he reported that it could possibly be seized, and theres basically no hope for the trans. I'm going to call tomorrow and see what i can get. Whether my money or another trans. (If neither, I'm short $400 :.[ Thanks for the input.


While I'm here... Anyone selling a TII trans in FL? I want to pick up and get my 7 running already but i will pay shipping if needed...

wow if your talking about the mazda mini cooper recyclers, theyre garbage, i paid some guy to take me there(hour and a half drive) cause they said they had the fenders i needed, but theyre really just liars, they had like 9 rx7s all with dented fenders... ********.

Hey, I just did the NA TII conversion on an 89. I had the same thing. It ended up that the shifter rods were all messed up and I had to have it rebuilt. I wasn't sure if I was going to have it rebuilt or not, so I ordered another TII tranny. I ended up paying 1500 bucks for the rebuild, but at least I know what I got now. I paid 295 for this one and it is in really good condition. Shifts through the gates crisply and the shaft turns!!. Believe it or not, this guy shipped it by UPS and I paid around 100 bucks in shipping. I can sell you this one if you want.

Yes. I'm talking about them. I'm gonna try to get my money back. I live all the way in FL. I couldn't find any TII transmissions when i was looking for it and saw their number in the Ft. Lauderdale phone book so I decided to call and they had one... I'm starting to think about it... Big Mistake... I think i'll send Hurleysurf24 a message... I know they live near me, and they have to know at least one transmission for sale locally... lol I'm dying to get it DD running, It's been oevr 2 months...
