Question transmission question???

ok, um quick question about the transmission.
wondering if there is any difference between a (90)GTU's tranny and a (91)convertible's tranny. need a tranny and was wondering if it was possible to put a convertible's tranny into a gtu, or should i try else where for a GTU tranny? any help would be appreciated.

i live in norcal and its kinda hard to obtain rx-7 parts.

Seems like 5th gear is slightly shorter in the 90-91 convertibles, but you wouldn't even notice the difference probably. It all bolts up.

5th gear on all the 89-91 non turbo, manual tranny FCs (regardless of coupe or convertible) is .697 (which was also the same 5th gear as the 86-88 non-turbo, manual tranny coupes).

The 88 'vert was the only one with a non-turbo different 5th gear, it came with a .711

And of course the Turbos which used a .719 in the 89-91 and a .762 5th gear in 87-88
