Transmission problems/exhaust I REALLY REALLY need your help!

So i just purchased a 1987 FC3S TURBO II. Everything is FINE! but While driving from 0 - go it makes this squeak noise i am freakin tweakin out and worried!! i think it might be transmission problems cause it makes that sound during take off it's not nasty loud and noisy its loud enough to be heard. Some times not to often when i put into first gear it goes "THUMP". And also my exhaust has an "exhaust leak" it makes noises kinda like those v8s but not really. I'm a newb yes i admit but i gotta love rotary. I'm 17 I will record videos while driving it and can any one please help me dont wanna wait till transmission is fully effed up or something or if exhaust will cause major problems!!!

Thank you,
Jason.

... A squeak noise? What kind of squeak noise?

Sure you're not just chirping your tires?

(I'm not getting the part about 0- go. Do you drive stick or what?)

An exhaust leak just means that your exhaust gases are coming out from a hole other than the pipes. Meaning it's not muffled or resonated or prettified, so it sounds like Satan's roaring anus. Exhaust leaks are minor, you can get those fixed relatively easily. It won't damage your car - worst it'll do is cut performance.

Actually, wait. Depends on where the exhaust leak is. I had a friend who had an exhaust leak right up near the manifold and melted the belts in his T2, and he was too lazy to fix the damn thing, so he had to deal with melted rubber in his engine bay and replace his belts every 15 miles.

Needless to say, the car didn't go very far for the year he had it.

your transmission, is it auto or manual?

as for your exhaust, put your car up on a lift, start it, first visualy look at the whole exhaust for rust damage, if you find some poke it with a screw driver, if it goes through, theres your problem.

if you dont see ne thing wrong visualy, grab a foot long metal pipe, start your car and hold the pipe up 2 your ear and have someone in the car 2 lay on the throttle a bit and, posisition the pipe twards exhaust and listen for ticks.

i doubt it will go that far, u will most likely see the problem(blown gasket, rusted as ****)

either buy a new turbo back, or find someone with a welder.

It makes the squeak as you're releasing the clutch pedal right?

None of your brake calipers are stuck are they? Sounds like maybe one is stuck and making that noiise as you drive. Where does the noise come from?

My car makes the thump noise when going into first, so did my other rx-7, infact when going really slow around 5 miles an hour or so, i can switch between 1st and 2nd over and over again and her it, however i'm pretty sure this is either normal or just worn differential mounts.

Also the 2nd video made no sense, what is the car doing? Is the idle going up and down?

dont get the point of your reply, read the fourm more, b4 posting i would have checked all smaller easier and cheaper 2 service parts that would make a similar noise b4 assuming its a trans problem.

as TehMonkay said look at the calipers

also the brake rotors, inspect for warpage or an excessive lip on the rotors, and pads on the calipers

if you still think its a trans problem , look at the slave cylinder first, then dig deeper.

and your second video had no point, go outside with a flash light turn your car on and look for your exhaust leak if the way i described makes no sence 2 u.

being that your 17 i would just take my car 2 a muffler shop 2 get it checked out, just dont let them tell u ne thing about the motor.

if u are unable 2 figure out whats wrong (if any thing) with at least the exhaust, sell your car, it will be way 2 much for u 2 deal with.

buy something that a monkey with a stick could work on in his sleep and make fast with minimal knowledge (i.e. foxbody, f-body, w-body)

theres my 2-cents-good luck

+1 on the brakes. Do a thorough inspection of the car, check the brake pads for adequate thickness, check your motor and transmission mounts for any significant wear.

Do you feel a little shuddering/shaking while letting the clutch out?

Why yes i DO feel that shudderin/shaking while letting clutch out to engage speed. But when if i smooth it out its more smoother and the noise becomes less "errrrrrrrt" sound. OMG I LOVE U i think im gettin some where now i took it to a japanese shop in fair oaks carmichael " JAPANESE ONLY ". but said i have to wait and hour ill go back. thank you thank you verry much.
