Transmission problems

Starting last sunday my car has had this random problem pop up three times. It will slowly become harder and harder to put into gear/change gears untill it becomes impossible. It seems like the clutch is not disengaging, as the car still wants to move forward with the clutch pedal all the way down. If I turn off the car and play with the shifter, moving it back and forth, the problem will dissapear. I searched and couldnt find anything that matched my problem. Any ideas?

I just had the same problem with my 90 SCCA E Production racecar. It's either the clutch master cylinder or the slave cylinder. If you pull back the boot on the slave cylinder and see signs of fluid, that's probably your problem. You can unbolt the clutch master( 2-12mm nuts on the firewall ) and pull it out to see if it's leaking. Either way it's an easy fix, but in the meantime if you pump the clutch it should work to get you going. Just make sure the resevoir is full.

It could be your release bearing or pressure plate. Does it grind? Is it an aftermarket clutch kit?
