Angry Transmission Problem

I cranked up my 91 fc with auto transmission today, and i have no reverse, neutral, or park. whenever im in those gears, the car tries to move forward. i put it in D, and it drives normally. shifts through all gears, and drives as if there inst a problem. what do you think is wrong with the tranny?

so in park it moves forward? did you check underneath to make sure the linkage is attached correctly and hasn't broken off?

when its in park. it tries to move forward. goes about 5 feet then stops. note this is only when the car is on. reverse and neutral are the same as D. when i was driving i put it in neutral, and nothing happened.

Sounds like linkage to me. Did it just do this all of the sudden or how long between "normal" driving and the problem occuring?

Sounds very plausible to be a linkage problem(internal or external). The inhibitor switch would tell the EC-AT unit you are in park by shifter position and allow the car to crank, but mechanically you are still stuck in drive.

no. just moves forward like if you were to park it on a hill and let off the brake and not use the e-brake
