Can anyone tell me where i can get just the plastic crown piece on the inside of the transmission lever control (bottom of the sifter). Mazdatrix sells the whole assembly for $42 but i just need the plastic piece. To remove the assembly requires the drop of the trans to get to the pin holding the assembly, I don't want to do that. Right now the way it sits i got it all cleaned up and waiting to find the plastic crown bushing to be snapped into place.

junkyard... but im pretty sure that 20 year old piece is gonna fall apart trying to remove it...

 

It would snap as you try to remove it. At the bottom there are crown clips that notch into the lever control assembly. I wonder if something can be cast in place or substituted for some other material?
