for transmission experts...

S5 Jspec 13BT - unknown tII tranny/diff...

Smooth shifting in all gears at low speeds... but when at about 70-80, if I take the car out of gear, and attempt to go back into a gear while at or near the same speed... I cant get it into a gear... ANY gear, until the car slows back down.

Any ideas?

syncros are bad probably.
Try going at a steady speed, and remember the rpm, then go into neutral, then rev back to that same rpm and try and put it back in gear.

or too thick of gear oil, TII trannies have heavy gearsets which take alot of force to mesh speeds which puts alot of stress on the syncros.
