Transmission curiosity question...

I have an automatic 89 vert, will a 91 JDM automatic fit, or were there modifications made between the two years? Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

Kindest Regards,

Alan

The JDM automatics are designed for Turbo engines, so its doubtful that the transmission computer would be compatible.

look for a local guy who did a at -> manual swap
i am sure they would let you have an auto transmission for free or clsoe to nothing..

Well try and get a Tranny computer from someone that got a FC front clip with a auto tranny.

You could try with your exsiting tranny computer, just not sure of the shift points would be right

Put in a 5-speed. You'll love yourself for it.

Id just go for a 5 speed swap.. much more enjoyable. But, if you really want the auto... Id do what Slpin says, and look for people who have done an AT to manual swap.
