transmission

my transmission isnt going into reverse. BlueTII said he ran into the same problem with his and all he had to do was realighn the reverse forks.
i took apart the tranny a bit. going to look at it some more tonight.

but i am wondering if i am going to need any special seals to reseal it back up? Or can i just use something like RTV??

If i dont figure it out i am just going to bring it to a tranny shop but just incase i do get it going, it would be nice to know if i should get seals from mazda or what

Make sure you get the selector rod interlock pins & springs in the right places.

RTV works great. Gray if available. I used blue.
Note that the directions say to let it set a few minutes before assembly.

well it looks like my clutch hub( the piece that the fork sits on) that slides over the 5th and reverse gear is pretty worn out...or it got grinded in a certain way where it made weird grooves on the backside of it. so when we try to push it over the reverse gear...the back side teeth of the hub hits the 5th gear and wont allow it to go over reverse.

So im actually going to grind it flat on the backside so it will allow it to slide over now.

If the part is pretty cheap then i will just replace it.
