trans sticks in 4th. need help.
the last 2 days my transmission has been acting weird.
the biggest problem is that it sticks in 4th. there is more resistance than usual going into 4th and darn near imposible to pull it out of 4th. it only comes out of 4th if i coast to a stop and then realy push hard to get it back in neutral.
it also seems to hang up on the center part of the "h" patern between 3rd and 4th. for instance when i pull it out of 5th the stick will just sit in front of 5th (but still be in neautral) instead of springing back to the middle. and if it is in the middle (neautral), it will hang up if i try to push over to 1st/2nd some of the time.
3rd gear is also hanging up slightly but not as bad as 4th. 1,2,5,and R are all shifting like normal.
these problems developed all at once yeterday so im pretty sure they are related.
for now im just skipping 4th and shifting 3-5. but id like to get to the bottom of this.
any advice or insight welcom. thanks.

There are 3 shift-forks in your trans. 3rd and 4th gear share a shift-fork. The shift-fork contacts a synchronizer. It slides something like forward into 3rd and backward into 4th, onto blocking rings that have dog-teeth.
If all other gears work fine, the problem is ether your blocking rings(these are made out of bronze or brass) or its the 3rd & 4th shift-fork.

return spring? is this something that could be confirmed or even fixed without taking the trans completely appart?
