trans rattle

i just bought an 88 vert and put shift bushings in it. When i did this the rubber boot was torn apart so i just removed it. Since then I've been noticing a rattle under acceleration from the tranny in 4th gear when the car has warmed up but not so much when its cold. If someone could hep me out that would be great. thanx

did you get new boots??? or just leave the ripped one off??? There are 4 boots you know????

It is not uncommon to have all kinds of rattles that were masked by the boots before. I'd be checking the exhaust first if the stock exhaust is still on there.

well the stock exhaust system has a sheild covering it. As they age, and get bumped, bottomed out, etc they tend to start rattling.
