will a s4 trans fit on a s5 motor

 

From what I understand yes. If its T2 to T2, you might need the rear cross mounting plate.

 

Must use same tranny mount as year of tranny, IE no s4 mount on a s5 tranny and vice versa. Everything else is the same unless it is a vert tranny which has a slightly larger clutch disk. I am using a vert tranny in my coupe without issuses though.
