Hey all, i just bought another FC about a week ago, ext. in great shape, int. was so-so...i got underneath it for the first time today and noticed that the tranny doesnt seem to fit right...i dont think that its from an FC!! could this be possible? either way im going to have to replace it. My buddy at mazda looked at it and told me he didnt think it was an RX7 tranny either, so i have 2 questions, what the hell is it...and i have access to an '88 tranny, its still an s4...it'll be a srait up replace right?

what year and model is the car and what year and model did that other tranny come from?

 

man, im in such a rush i didnt even write that out. Its an 87 base. As for the other tranny, i have no idea where it came from...the previous owner was kindof a quack...so i havent a clue where he found it...but im pretty sure it ain't from an FC. And would anyone be able to answer my second question... will a replacement 88 tranny fit?

 

Maybe a TurboII tranny and need to swap drvie shafts or rear end ?

 

if the replacement tranny is a non-turbo, it will fit no problem. if it's from a t2, you'll have to change out a few things. i'm not sure what but you'll definitely find it with a search.
