Tranny Fill Plug?

The tranny fill plug for non turbo 1989 FD's is like this weird box shape nut right near this sensor right? If so, I can't seem to get it off, this isnt the first time I've had problems getting a nut off this car because the underbody is so rusted around the bolts, everything else is fine. Also is there a certain tool I must use to do this, I've just been using a vice grip wrench? So I think I'm gonna have to get some of this penetrating oil, but I am correct that this is the plug right, it's on the passenger side of the tranny?

For mine it was on the driver side of the tranny, *runs outside to spare tranny*, yep drivers side, looks like a 14 mm open end wrench will fit. The plug is square in shape and sits just forward of the gear casing. I had no problems removing it with a standard wrench, but my car was kept in good condition by the previous owner.

P.S. I didn't know there were non-turbo third gens made in '89

Well this is good, I just rounded off this plug too! So now the car is sitting with the tranny oil drained. How big of a problem am I looking at?

Unless you can flip the car upside-down and refill through the drain plug, it's a big problem. ALWAYS loosen the fill plug before draining a gearbox or diff! But I guess you know that now...

Square-drive plugs come off easily with an adjustable wrench. Unless you round them off.

yeah I finally got this off, I have no idea why the previous owner has these bolts tightened so much. I used PB Blaster and a long breaker bar.
