TPS! -- What when and where

Okay -- I have been dealing with this problem for too long now...My car (89na) starts choking and straining at about 6500-6800 RPMs... the revs start to climb ever so slowly in every gear, and the car is running about 2 or 3 seconds slower than it should... This is really annoying, b/c i know this car can scoot... I have been told its my TPS, well thats great, how do i fix it? how do i know if it is bad? I got a semi-detailed explanation from RoshRx7 but it didnt help much... I am really at my wits end and am considering taking it to MazCare and pay them exorbarant amounts of money to tell me what i already know... so someone please help...

Thank you...

Just go to the "Search" bar in the top right of this page, and type "TPS." Trust me, you will get a 1,000 threads, and most are helpful! I have some links around here somewhere if you still get no luck!

does your check engine light come on occasionally? if it does......then it might be your TPS. but if the light doesn't come on...its probably something else.

my 91 n/a had a similar episode this summer (hesitation and it would stop revving around 6K). it might be your ports not opening corretly (5 &6 ports)...i had those adjusted, put in a new O2 sensor...and the car runs perfect again
