TPS is screwed... maybe?
Hey!,
Finally figured out what the hell was up w/ the 2krpm idle on crazydude's car -- the TPS is either really outta whack or it's just completely screwed (nice thought )
I tested it according to the FSM, & here are the values (FSM) & Mine:
Closed Full Throttle
Narrow Range (.8-1.2) 1.94 (4-6) 5.1 [OK]
Full Range (.6-.9) [OK] (3.4-5.1) 0.54
So, the question is can I adjust that back to be within spec, or is the TPS shot? I'd rather not fiddle with it trying to adjust it if the thing is fried!
Thanks!,
Manolis

You can almost always adjust it back to spec, but there may be a problem with the plunger that makes the car run terribly even though it reads the right numbers when you test it.
