tps question
i know there are thousands of tps threads but i didnt find any help
now my question is if my tps reads 1k ohm at idle good right. now as i open the throttle it climbs to around 3 - 4k then drops to like 4 - 700 ohms is this the "tps drop out" that everyone talks about
Thanks

I recommend forgetting about OHMS readings all together. PUt the meter on dcvolts and backprobe the green/.red wire on the harness side of the TPS plug. Then monitor the voltage as the throttle opens all the way.
What your doing sounds more like the meter going from one scale to another than anything else. Self ranging meter I believe. Do volts dc. Should read one volt at idle with a fully warmed up engine.

The TPS connector needs to be connected up to do what I suggested above. FYI
Also the engine needs to be fully warmed up.
I assumed it's a 1987 non turbo car so you won't have to remove the intercooler found on turbo cars.
Using care, backprobe the green/red wire on the harness side of the TPS plug with the engine idling. Adjust til the meter reads one volt dc.
