TPS only sweeping to 2.3K when tested...
After reading several TPS adjustment posts, I decided to try my hand at tuning it - after I got sick of watching my dang RPM needle quiver all the time 'around' 750...
In the background, some cat on this website was getting rid of a bunch of parts, and he posted a J-Spec BAC valve and TPS for an s5 pretty cheap (45k miles). So, I didn't think it could hurt to have those laying around... Meanwhile, back at the ranch...
I tested my TPS on my car by connecting my VOM to the green and orange wire studs in the plug, and sure enough, at rest, the resistance was approximately .75K Ohms. So, as per Aaron's advice, I turned the appropriate screw to set my resistance at 1K. BAM... There it was. However, when I depressed the TPS fully, it would only max its resistance at approximately 2.3K Ohms. It seems to me that I read somewhere on this site that it should max at 5K Ohms.
Just to be sure, I checked my new (used) TPS too. It maxed out at exactly 2.3K Ohms too... Coincidence? Should I be getting a maximum resistance of 5K when fully depressing the TPS or is 2.3K appropriate? Could this be an indication that both of my sensors are 'tired'?
Thanks to all in advance for your responses...
