TPS location and adjustment for an 89 series 5 turbo
Hi,
Ok my friend and I are trying to work out exactly how to locate and adjust the tps in my car. We've searched and read numerous accounts on how to do this, as well as consulting my Haynes manual, yet due to us being retarded (?), we can't find the screw, or don't want to risk stuffing the procedure up. Does anyone have any pics of the tps screw location? We think we may have found it, but want to be certain.
Just to confirm.
Warm the car up, take the cooler off, leave the car running? Which vacuum hose do we remove, and if the car is idling, wont it be sucking crap into the inlet pipes from the cooler?
Main thing is, can someone post a picture up for us? Or can someone link some pics?
Thanks, Daniel.

The factory service manual is located at http://www.fc3s.org
The TPS sits at the front of the throttle body under the intercooler. Looks like two black barrels with a wiring harness coming from it. Warm up the car fully then shut the car off. Remove the intercooler then adjust. Reinstall the intercooler, go for a drive, then park and repeat.

Alright i've adjusted it now, so that one connection is showing 12 volts something, and the other is at 0.20 volts. Is the 'open switch' one meant to be a dead zero volts? Or is 0.20 accurate enough? It hasn't seemed to have an effect on my hunting idle at all though unfortuanntly, Bac valve cleanout next, although i'm still not sure if it's something electrical, as having the lights on seems to get it to idle perfect.

Do NOT use the voltage method. Use the resistance method. Adjust for 1K. This is done with the engine turned off and the TPS disconnected. Try searching for "tps adjust". Lots of info available.
