tps is killing me- what's the deal?
Okay so after buying two used throttle position sensors I decided to buy one from atkins. I read that the s5 is the same as the s4 and so I got it, thinking it would correspond to the ported and polished s5 throttle body... and I get to testing the resistance and it tests better but still doesn't get 4-6 ohms on full open throttle for one pole. what is the deal? I can't get this thing to run right, and it seems throttle related.
can someone tell me that atkins gave me a crapped out tps or some equally life changing knowledge?
HELP! I'm getting hardly any throttle response, it'll start but not idle- i have to fluctuate the throttle to get it to start.

Whatever series your car is then that is what tps you should have bought. NOTE: S5 & S4 TPS are NOT the same. You say you have a S5 throttle body, is the engine S5 and the car too? What as been removed from the throttle body when you ported/polished it? Need some more detail here.

is tps the plural form?
I have the s5 tb on an s4 engine, s4 tps and ecu. I bought the tb on the forum, it has the coolant operated (name?) butterfly deleted and the holes jb welded in. I thought at first that it must be the mounting location, so i took it off to finagle a new mount and realized that it couldn't get within 4-6 ohms even if it was located differently and the tps was adjusted, the sensor itself wasn't givin me the juice.
my question is this: shouldn't I be able to get 4-6 ohms resistance whether or not it is 'adjusted?' I called atkins and that's what he asked me, is if i've adjusted it... but I can't get (a to c) it to test within fsm specs with it OFF the throttle, let alone on. Is the fsm just wrong or am i the only one getting bad tps'?
