TPS Adjustment - Quick question

This is the procedure I'm referring to here. Under diagnostics, step #1 says to hold the engine at 2k rpms. It never says to shut the engine off. Am I correct in assuming that you leave the engine on for the entire procedure? If so, do you have to hold it at 2k the whole time?? Thanks.

no u just have the engine running to conferm that the ecu is receiving the signal properly, that what step one is doing i believe.
step 2 u do with engine warmed up to operating temp, with engine off.

Well thanks for the info, however the TPS doesn't even matter. I checked my compression and it ain't lookin good. 80-80-60 on the front, 30-35-30 on the back. Woohoo. I'm gonna go shoot myself now.
