TPS adjustment lights...HELP

alright, i just got the car back together and need to adjust the idle. It has no BAC or cold start at all. It is pretty bare block. only things left are the omp and the minimum necesary vacuums. How should i adjust the idle. Does anyone know the link to a site with a writeup of making the tps adjuster lights and where to stick em. I have no memory and forget where i have seen them. I am also searching right now so any info would be greatly appreciated.

Does it matter what mA the lights are? I have some that are 15 mA and some that are 30 mA.

Good luck getting the car to idle without a BAC...

Personally, I don't like using the lights. I just measure the terminals of the plug and adjust for 1K resistance. I believe you want to measure between the orange and green wires.

To start set the TPC resistance to 1K ohms. Without a BAC you may be setting the idle to 1k RPM.

i'd use the ohm meter meathid on ted's site i started out using the light meathod and it's not very effective there's to wide a range for the lights one will stay on for a few turns and that can be up to 1.5 ohms. get a good ohm meter and set it that way.

The rationale behind using the lights is the ECU is telling you if it's seeing the right signal or not. If you set the TPS with a meter, you're measuring the resistance at the TPS, not necessarily what the ECU is seeing due to voltage drop and the like in the stock wiring.

I use the lights to find the 1-light area, then find where the crossover to no lights is. Go back about a quarter turn, and start from there. If the throttle response is a bit off, I try small changes to the setting until I find a happy medium.
