I need new rear tires I'm gettin 245/45 16 what kind should I get?

 

BTW those are my choices due to price I'd like to stay under $110 a tire, If you know where I can get a tire you think is better than all of these for less please tell me

 

I have read and checked ratings on these tires and concidering them for myself. They have a good wet/dry rating and have very good traction. definantly a good tire.

 

What about falken azenis?

 

What are you using the tires for? What kind of driving?

 

I don't think 245s will fit very well in the fenders...

What size rim do you have? What offset? If you're thinking of putting that size on a stock rim, you're crazy.

At any rate, I run 225s and they're just fine. I use Toyo Proxes T1-Ses, though, and they're out of your set price limit by about $40. I'd reccomend Falken Azenis tires, they're pretty cheap and they stick almost as well as my Toyos.

 

Azenis are great tires as long as its dry out you get some rain and it is down right scary just look at the tread pattern for those tires and you can see they are going to be horrible in wet conditions

however for the money your not going to find a better dry tire

245s fit fine some people put 265, i'm using them for street and drag

 

I have ES100's and they are absolutely perfect so far. I just finished getting 550 miles on them to break them in and they're sticking to roads great. I took it down a windy road at 85 on slick roads and didn't have any problems or feel like I was losing traction. Be sure to get price quotes from all over before you get your tires, any dealer you get them drom will probably match a tirerack.com price. I know NTB does, and Cooper tires does as well if you have that near you.

 

Yokohamas are good tires. I have them on my FC and they stick good, but they are the only performance tire I have ever had on, so I don't have anything to compare them too. Pretty good in the rain aswell, don't try to drive in snow though.

They look REALLY aggresive, but I've heard that they aren't very sticky. Mostly for looks.

I have Yokohama ES100s by the way. No complaints here.

 

I have heard numerous times, by people that work in tire shops, and even SELL falken Azenis, that they suck ***. well, they're good initially, but after like 3 or 4 heat cycles, they grip like ***. and on race track type surfaces, they get really oily, and don't stick at all once they heat up.

also, the kuhmo ecsta 711's are supposed to be cheap peices of ****. don't know about the others.


also, not only will 225's fit better on stock rims, and probably give better grip(since its only a 7 inch rim, and the tire doesn't fit right), you'll also save yourself quite a bit of money. and, 245's won't fit in front.

I think the kuhmo MX's are supposed to be pretty good, especially for the price. they didn't have quite as good dry traction as the g-Force T/A KD, or quite as good wet traction as the AVS es100, but better wet than the BFgoodrich, and better dry than the yoko's.
and they're pretty nicely priced.
I'm not sure though. so feel free to correct me.

Nobody seems to own Toyos, is it because they have to get shipped into the US? I really like mine, but it seems that nobody's tried them.

 

I can mount these tires my rims are not stock and i'm going with a 225 up front i kow the 245 wont fit there

 

My Azenis ONLY stick when they heat up. IF they are cold or wet they don't grip at all. As soon as they get warm though, they stick like glue. They are more sticky than my other falkens were (i forget the model but they said Z-LEX on the sidewall). Most of my friends that autox will ONLY use them

 

Most people at local autocrosses stick with the Azenis tires as well, but many said they wish they had the extra money to go for my tires.

Of those, I'd say go with the Yokos.
