okay 245 is the total width of the tire in millimeters. the 45 is called the aspect ratio. basically this is the hieght of the tire from rim bead to the top of the tread. its done in percentage (don't ask why) so your tire hieght is gonna be 45% of 245. and well you should know what the 17 is. you'll have to check out whatever rims to see what size tires they can hold. most tires shops should have something they can look up.

To read the tire size- The first number is the tire's cross-section in millimeters. So a 245/45/17 tire is 245 mm at its widest point. The second number is the tire's profile given as a percentage of the tire's width. So in this case, the tire's profile (the height above the rim) is 45% of 245, or 110 mm. The third number is the size rim that the tire takes. So, in inches, a 245/45/17 tire is about 9.8 inches at its widest point, and about 4.4 inches in profile. (Remember that the widest point on a tire is not necessarily the tread width.)

245 = 9.65 inches (tire width)
245/45 = 4.34 (tire profile)
25.68 = (total wheel/tire height)

You need to talk with Rishie (aka ARD T2). Hes the wheel expert and gives forum club members a great discount. Poste a message in the wheels forum or PM him.
