tire size fitting...i know it's been overdone

hey, i just had a quick question. i am planning on getting 17x7.5" wheels with a +40 offset. I want to put 225's on the front but i don't want them to rub. does anyone know if this setup would work?

From what I understand, you need coilovers in the front to clear 225s. If you don't plan on getting them, I'd stick with 215s or 205s

I say no, they won't fit.
The stock TII wheels 16 x 7 40mm offset will allow certain brands of 225's to be installed without grinding away some spring seat. You are now installing a 7.5" wide wheel with the same offset. That will move the wheel 6 mm closer to the strut, as well as 6mm further out towards the fender. Let's say that's about 3/8" in closer to the strut. No way without a spacer.

Ask ARDT2 aka Rishie.. He sells lots of wheels and tires for 7's and will know exactly what you can run.

You can find him here.

You need at least a 1/4" spacer up front to make that combo fit.
