I get a odd metal on metal "tink" noise at almost every shift, and it is only an audible sound, there is zero feeling to it, leading me away from the diff mount, which looked ok.
could a bad trans mount cause that? and if so wheres the best priced one sold at?

well man how do your u joints look if its bad it will make a small tink noise when you shift.

 

Mine makes this noise also, Interested to see how this turns out.
