Timing problems, very confused

Recently I put on a Racing Beat main underdrive pulley when I had the engine out for some work.

Before putting the engine back in I restabbed the CAS, bla bla, got it ready and dropped the engine in.

Well ever since then I've been battling timing problems and have no idea what's going on. I restab the CAS over and over, adjust, etc, until I get leading 1 where it should be (5º ATDC), and the idle seems good and all that, but when I check trailing 1 the timing marks just disappear and I can't see them at all. It basically looks like it's 180º off, why would this happen if leading 1 is lined up properly?

Under the advice of a friend I tried swapping trailing 1 and trailing 2 plug wires, I go and recheck it and guess what it's right where it should be. However, when I drive it with those swapped the car has NO power at all!! It drives perfectly smooth and seems like everything's great, but it just doesn't have any power and wont pick up at all. Then if I swap the trailing plug wires back to where they are supposed to be, the trailing timing is once again way off but if I drive it the power is back. However, though it has power it drives really weird and rough.

Does ANYONE have any suggestions or any idea why this is happening?

1. My TPS was way out of range and I had to readjust it.
2. Every time I restabbed the CAS it was moving apparently as I put it in and would cause the gear to turn too much when putting it back in and made the trailing be all screwed up. To rectify this I had to take the cap off of the CAS and hold the gear part inside of that as I put it into the front cover.

Basically those two things were it. After that I just turned the car on, let it warm up to op temp and adjusted the leading, checked trailing and it was finally lined up properly.

best advice i can give, because i have dealt with this before, remove the cover from the CAS and identify the position of one of the 2 triangular shaped points and hold it at that position while you put the CAS in. makes for less headaches that way.

Yep, definitely worked when I held it in place, just didn't think about it before.
