timing and detination questions.
87 TII- mods in sig.
To get the timing to line up to the marks i gave to jump the cas a tooth.
when my car has the timing set to the punch marks on the main "crank" pulley it idles really low and has NO throttle responce.
ok saying that...
1> Can that main "crank pulley go on more then one way? is there a key or something keeping it from being installed with the wrong allignment?
2> With the timing set to the marks what the "right" way to clear up the throttle responce? tps?
3> will timing being advanced cause detination?
4> will it make my car miss-fire at idle?
help me out as much as possible. im concerned about this light "finger nails tapping on metal" sound i hear under load.

The pulley can only be installed one way. The holes are staggered.
Advanced timing will increase your risk of detonation.
I think your problem is your idle settings. You need to set the timing DEAD on. Make sure your reading is being taken around 800 RPMS. Then jumper your ISC and readjust your idle.
Oh, and slight misfire at idle is fairly normal.

if the marks are right then my timing is WAY advanced. i have to turn the cas back a tooth to get it to the marks.
now the fool who put in the motor beforei bought it was a moron. So it wouldnt supprise me if it is all messed up.
so when i turn back the timing to where it needs to go how do i clear up the throttle responce?
