Yeah I was thinking more about it last night and I was thinking that the fuel filter element may have broken loose in the housing or something had broke loose in the tank and got sent through the line I will be checking all the lines and fuel filter alittle later today.

Ok I rechecked all of the fuel lines from the pump to the engine and they aren't pinched or moved or even out of the clips that hold them to the body. I removed the fuel filter but it doesn't seem to be plugged but I am going to replace it just to be safe. I ordered it about 5min ago so hopefully it will be here after lunch.

When the fuel filter gets here I will put it in and try starting it again and see what happens. I may pull the pump out of the tank again and just look to see if I missed anything before.

I will let you all know what happens.

Tonight I blew air through the fuel line right at the pump with the flter out and the air seams to flow good no restrictions or pressure buildup.

I installed the new fuel filter and the fuel pressure still drops after the engine fires up and but it seams to run for alittle longer before it dies now. But all in all same problem.

In the morning I am going to check the voltage at the pump. Before all I did was check to see if there was power there with a test light. I am also planning on trying to give the pump a 12v feed from a battery jump box and see what happens if the pump will run and make good pressure.

Again if anyone has been brain storming on my problem I would love to hear any ideas stupid of not because I am giving up hope.......

you've got just about everything down, the only real thing left is the power and ground at the pump and the installation of the pump istelf.

don't worry, you are just narrowing down possible other causes and getting to the root of the problem.

Well you are all going to laugh at me but I figured it out today. I had previously check for power at the pump with a test light and I had power. Today I check with a volt meter and with the fuel pump disconnected I had 12v and with it hooked up and running only had 8v

So after scratching my head for a few minutes I start thinking what could cause a power drop before the componet. Then I relized that I had not really looked at the ground for the fuel pump. So I put a jumper wire on the ground on the pump housing and connected it to a good ground and what do you know the damn thing runs like a champ.

So I Was so pissed that it took me that long to figure that out I went home but I will trace the ground in the morning and find out why it has high resistonce

Thanks for all the help sorry I am such a dumb *** and wasted everyone's time

Glad to see that you found it. And that's what this forum is for! You didn't waste anyone's time. Because inevitably there will be someone else with a similar problem that will be able to read this thread and save themselves the headache you went through.

Well again thanks for the help everyone.

It is kindof slow at work to day so I should be able to work on it soon and find were the ground wire goes and see why it has high resistence. I will get a few drift pics up soon for some eyecandy and a big thanks to all.

btw, the turbo pump will only see 8 volts until it sees a fair load. i can't remember if it is RPM triggered voltage staging or load based. the grounding was the whole issue though it sounds like

Yeah I can't believe it took me that long to figure out. I guess I learned a lesson about checking voltage with a test light. I just put it all back together and took it on a quick test drive around the lot at my work really loud with out any exhaust just cut off at the end of the down pipe. But it is only going to be a race car until I can get the frame pulled and some new tail lights

again thanks for the help

drift pics tonight!!!!!!
