TII Smog Equipment Removal Question
TII Smog Equipment Removal Question
TII Gurus—
I’m new to the TII engine and am looking for some advice. I’m installing this JDM S5 turbo engine into a non-Mazda project car. I don’t need any of the emissions stuff, so I’m stripping the engine of any and all smog equipment. I started by pulling off the big air pump. Next up is all the smaller stuff. What, if anything, can I pull from the engine? I’ve read some of the threads on the subject, but I’m still a little confused. Some of my confusion has to do with the terminology. With that in mind, I posted the following picture. I’m starting on the passenger side of the engine.. In the photo, what exactly are the parts A, B, and C that I’ve labeled? Can I pull off any of these? If so, do I simply block the resulting “holes” back off?
I’d really like to simplify and clean up the engine as much as possible before getting it into the car. I appreciate any input you guys can provide...
Cheers,

Check the FSM/Haynes, both of which can be downloaded from the FAQ at the top of the page.
Now that that is out of the way, I'm pretty sure A is your BAC Valve (Bypass Air Control...for when there is load on engine at idle/ac is on/ps is turned, idle gets bumped up)
B and C are parts of your ACV (Air Control Valve) Which, if you're not running cats, can be deleted. They will come off together when the assembly is removed.
www.2751engineering.com sells block off plates for everything you want to block off.

EDIT: Also, when you pull off your upper intake manifold, you will see a mess of hard vacuum piping going to what looks like everywhere,... you can take that off, too.
