TII Rear End Help

Ok sourry for this but i have search 4 day now with no luck

I as wondering If there is any way to tell if its a TII rear end By numbers on it and not just by looking at it

I am going to pick up a 1990 GXL and the Seller says it has a TII rear end in it

I know they didnt come with it But he said it was put in to do a Turbo swap to the Shell

The Rear Diff will be the Buying point of this car for me because I need the Extra Strenght That The TII rear end offers

I have Done the Dreded LS1 Swap.

Thanks for your guys time!!

the t2 diff are bulkier and sometimes have a tag that says nned to service with limited slip differential fluid. there is also a trick when the vehicle is in the air i believe if you spin one tire counterclock wise if the other tire spins the same way its a limited slip and if it spins opposite its a open diff im not exactly sure on that though

look at the ribs on the aluminum casing, turbo diffs have more ribbing closer than NA's. the NA diff cover has ribbing more widely spaced, almost two fingers apart. but there are also NA's with lsd's so spinning the wheel could throw you off

If you have a NA to compare it to you will see the difference. Thicker drive shaft, bigger yoke and u-joint, thicker half shafts. You get the idea. I don't know if the test with both wheels off the ground works with the S5 viscous limited slip axle but it will with the S4 clutch type.
