TII JDM swap.. AFM?

So I have a JDM TII coming in tomorrow from Tiger Japanese. I have read a bunch of the NA to JDM TII swap How To's so I'm pretty well set for the swap.

One problem. I kinda forgot it was Tax season and some of the excess $ for this project went away to the GOV. So now this project is going to take a bit longer than it really should.

I have a 30 day startup guarantee for this engine and I want to make sure the thing will start. I can drop it in the car and hook up the starter and battery to do a compression test (as well as an initial looking over for anything obvious before it goes in) but I want to make sure this thing will start up.

So heres the question:
I kinda ran out of $ for the boost sensor (which I'll probably get off ebay), the AFM (Still trying to find one.. Any ideas?), and the ECU (I'll just use the n350 for now.. From what I've heard it will still start up). Will the engine start (and just start. Not run well or go anywhere.. just start) with the n350 pressure sensor and no AFM.

Also I have 4-500 sitting in my pocket and I'll have more soon so if I need one or all of these parts I can probably get them sooner than later.. Beer and Pizza will have to wait.

What do you guys think? Thanks

Details: The car is a 89 GXL. I'm swapping in an S5 Tii (spliced NA harness) and keeping my existing drivetrain (bolting the NA Flywheel into it and using my old clutch). I don't really hardass my car and my trans is in good condition so I'm not too worried about blowing the trans / rear end.. And if I do I can swap that out when the time comes.

It should start and idle/run ok as long as the ECU and the Pressure sensor are both non turbo. It'll idle *funny* or not quite right if you use a turbo pressure sensor with a non turbo ECU.

The non turbo afm should be good enough for starting and idling and some driving around. Certainly good enough for deciding if the engine is good/bad.

I have a JDM turbo ECU for sale which ran perfect before I took it out. Cheap!

Before you go through all the trouble of installing an engine that could be blown you would be wise to perform compression check when it arrives. A pair of jumper cables, A spark plug wrench, a compression tester and a buddy is all you need. The method for checking compression can be found here:

Hey let me know how everything turns out with the engine. That's where I was looking to buy mine from actually.
