Question TII injectors in an N/a

Hi, i need new injectors, and i can only find low impedence tII injectors. I have no engine mods to speak of only an intake (not yet purchased, but very soon) a high flow cat, and a corksport cat back. but these should only put out based on the a/f meter anyway right, so even though they have the capacity, they won't use it? or am i of my rocker. thanks in advance

It'll run too rich and bogg down big time. Just my opinion. Others to come from others. Only reason for saying so is I put 550's in my secondaries and I get a bogging down at 5100 rpm. I figure if I had put them in the primary holes the thing would have run pretty bad in the lower rpms also. Never took the time out to install them in the primaries, too much hassle involved. If you have them in hand, just whip the secondaries out and install the 550's and see what you think. Its basically a twenty minute job to install them. And now for a confession.......about ten months ago I said on this forum that I had put 550's in my 87n/a and that it ran darn good. Well, I found out that the 550's that I had bought and installed were considerably less than 550's. More like 500cc delivery per minute. Purple junk. EDIT: Oh, the bogging at 5100 wasn't that bad and more than less cleared up on the way to 7500. Thing is, I've seen on this forum that 460's are good up to 250hp, and if thats to be believed, the 550's would be a waste.

Yep... if you did install them, you would need a $300 S-AFC to tone them down, since the stock ECU would still think you have 460's in, and would keep the injector pulsewidth open accordingly.... no way around that..

It's a waste of time and money.&nbsp I dunno where people get this idea that you throw more fuel at an engine, and it will produce more power, but it's false.&nbsp The stock 460's can support up to 200hp easily - are you planning on producing more than 200hp?

Whats wrong with your old injectors? If they only need a good cleaning then find a local diesel shop that might be able to clean them in a day or you can send them off to RC Engineering(not sure about there web address) for about $25 each. They have a quick turn around so down time is minimal.
